So many countries, so many customs

Today's the 1st November, the day we think about and visit the graves of our beloved ones. It made me think of the different ways we commemorate the deceased around the world. In Poland All Saints' Day is filled with melancholy and calmness (although, for some people nowadays more important is the biggest bouquet or candle on the grave). But in countries like Japan or Mexico All Saints' Day is a joyous time, a time when the spirits of the deceased come to visit us. People in these countries organise parades and dances to welcome the spirits. It's all very lively and colorful. Someday I'd like to visit Mexico or Japan in this time of the year.
And you, do you like our polish All Saints' Day or would you prefer celebrate it like Mexican and Japanese?
