Japanease ads

Japan is one of countries that invest huge amount of money in advertisement.
Thanks to internet almost whole world has seen some of the rare and funny Japanese ads. But they are exceptions, in reality -Japanese ads are pretty normal. They are, however, some differences between the Japanese and, for example, American advertisement.
1. The American ads are very direct. They show you all of the good aspects of product, they tell you what to do with it, how it can change your life for better, how it is better than other products... They are a bit bothersome. Japanese ads are more indirect. They tell short stories involving their products. Sometimes they show the product not until the end of the ad, or even just the name of it. That´s why it´s hard for people from other countries to understand them.
2. The Japanese advertisement is not aggressive, however it´s intrusive. The Japanese ads are short but they are being repeated very much. There is a short time of the program and again! the ad. They last very short time but are repeated very often. That´s why they stuck in our heads.

That´s it for today! Bye!

Silence

Today I´ll talk about the silence as a part of conversation in Japan.
In Japan it´s very normal and even necessary to be silent. It´s okey to be silent when you are out with somebody, it won´t be taken as a sign of annoyance or anger, as it if often perceived in other countries. When you talk very much and non-stop you'll be perceived as a rude :)

Cat cafes in Japan

Today I'll talk about why do neko (neko = cat) cafes in Japan are so popular๐Ÿˆ

Neko cafes didn't arised here, it started in Taiwan in 1994. The first one in Japan opened in 2004 in Osaka and from that moment it started the catty invasion in Tokyo :)

In Tokyo a lot of people have a rent apartment and in many apartments they not allow to have pets, including cats. The apartments that allow having pets are pretty expensive.
Some people do have their own house but they are usually very busy with their work and can't take care of a pet or a member of the family is allergic to cat or animals en general so it's impossible to have them at home.
So neko cafe is the place that cat-lovers can enjoy the company of their favorite animal and that are the main reasons why the business works.

Valentine's Day

There are some differences between Valentine's Day in Japan and in other countries. Here are the two most important:
1.On Valentine's Day in Japan are the girls who make gifts on February 14 and a month later, on March 14 is when boys repay them by giving them sweets, it's called The White Day.๐Ÿซ
2. In Japan they not only give chocolates to the person you love or have crush on, but they give chocolates to members of their family and co-workers! These chocolates differ from the ones you give to the person you love, they are smaller and modest. They are called giri-choco, giri means courtesy. You give these giri-choco when you want to thank somebody for their help and taking care of you. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•
